For many, many years MacArthur park has been plagued with urban blight, gangs, and drugs; but remains a cultural epicenter for street vendors, and people looking to score a hot deal, from clothing, electronics, food, household goods; at any given moment the whole atmosphere can change from a deal gone wrong to police showing up in force to remove everyone from the sidewalk to all out chaos, it's living its breathing it's as real as it gets all while being surrounded by one of the most beautiful parks in the city, littered with palm trees and a giant lake.
